Q: Is TheWholeTest really free?

A: Yes! TheWholeTest is 100% free with no hidden charges, subscriptions, or premium tiers. All mock tests, PYQs, and practice materials are completely free to use.

Q: Do I need to sign in to take tests?

A: You can browse all tests without signing in. To attempt a test, a one-click Google Sign-In is required — this lets us save your results, track your performance across attempts, and show you a personalised progress dashboard. No password or manual registration needed.

Q: Can I use TheWholeTest on mobile devices?

A: Yes, our platform is fully responsive and works on all devices — desktop, tablet, and mobile phones.

Tests & Practice

Q: What types of tests are available?

A: We offer Full-Length Mock Tests (Paper 1 & Paper 2 combined), Previous Year Questions (PYQs), Topic-Wise Practice Tests, and Daily Practice Quizzes covering the UGC NET syllabus.

Q: How are the tests structured?

A: Paper 1 has 50 questions (100 marks) with 60 minutes duration. Paper 2 has 100 questions (200 marks) with 120 minutes duration. All questions are multiple-choice with no negative marking.

Q: Can I pause a test and resume later?

A: Yes! Your in-progress answers are automatically saved in your browser for up to 24 hours, so you can close the tab and resume from where you left off. Submitted tests are saved permanently to your profile.

Q: How many times can I attempt a test?

A: You can attempt each test as many times as you want. Practice makes perfect!

Q: What is the difference between Full-Length and Topic-Wise tests?

A: Full-Length tests cover the complete syllabus as per the exam pattern. Topic-Wise tests focus on specific topics (like Teaching Aptitude, Research Methodology, etc.) with 10 questions per set — ideal for targeted practice.

Results & Progress

Q: When will I see my results?

A: Results are shown instantly after you submit the test. You'll see your score, percentage, correct/incorrect answers, and detailed explanations.

Q: Are answers and explanations provided?

A: Yes! After submitting a test, you can review all questions with the correct answers and detailed explanations to help you understand the concepts better.

Q: Where is my test history stored?

A: Your test results are saved securely on our servers and linked to your Google account. This means your full history and progress dashboard are accessible from any device or browser as long as you sign in.

Q: What does the Profile dashboard show?

A: Your profile shows overall stats (tests attempted, average score, best score), a topic-wise accuracy breakdown highlighting your weakest areas, a subject performance breakdown, and your full test history with scores and time taken.

Q: Can I download or print my results?

A: Currently, you can take screenshots of your results. We're working on adding PDF download functionality in the future.

UGC NET English Literature

Q: What topics are covered in UGC NET English Paper 2?

A: Our English Literature Paper 2 tests cover all major units including British Literature (Poetry, Drama, Fiction), American Literature, Indian Writing in English, Literary Theory & Criticism, and more — matching the official NTA syllabus.

Q: How many English Literature PYQs are available?

A: We have previous year questions from multiple UGC NET sessions (June & December) organized by year. Each PYQ set includes 100 Paper 2 questions with detailed explanations, and we add new sessions as they become available.

Q: Can I practice English Paper 2 topic-wise?

A: Yes! Topic-wise practice sets let you focus on specific units like British Poetry, Drama, American Literature, or Literary Theory. Each set has 10 questions so you can target your weak areas without committing to a full test.

Q: What does the Full Mock Test include for English?

A: The Full Mock Test combines Paper 1 (50 MCQs, 60 min) and Paper 2 English Literature (100 MCQs, 120 min) into a single 3-hour, 150-question session — the closest simulation of the actual UGC NET exam.

Content & Updates

Q: How often are new tests added?

A: We regularly add new content including the latest PYQs and practice tests. A "Recently Added" banner on the homepage highlights tests added in the past week so you never miss new content.

Q: Are the questions authentic?

A: Yes! PYQ questions are sourced from actual UGC NET examinations. Practice questions are carefully curated to match the exam pattern and difficulty level.

Q: Which subjects do you cover?

A: We cover Paper 1 (General Paper, common to all candidates), Paper 2 English Literature, and Paper 2 Economics. More subjects are being added regularly.

Technical Issues

Q: What if the timer stops working?

A: The timer runs in your browser. If it stops, try refreshing the page — your in-progress answers are auto-saved and will be restored.

Q: I can't see my previous test results. What should I do?

A: Make sure you are signed in with the same Google account you used when you took the tests. Your results are tied to your account and will appear in your Profile dashboard once you sign in.

Q: Which browsers are supported?

A: TheWholeTest works best on modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge (latest versions).

Q: Why are some questions not loading?

A: This could be due to a slow internet connection. Try refreshing the page or checking your network connection.

Privacy & Data

Q: What data do you collect?

A: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo. We also store your test attempts and scores to power your progress dashboard. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Q: Is my data safe?

A: Yes. Your test history is stored securely on Cloudflare's infrastructure. We use Google Sign-In so we never handle passwords. Read our Privacy Policy for full details.

Q: Do you use cookies?

A: We use minimal essential cookies for platform functionality (e.g. keeping you signed in). No tracking or advertising cookies are used.
